We’ll be meeting December 7th at Tech Shop, and again at Instructables in San Francisco the on the 16th of December, 2008.
We have over 250 members in Meetup, the group is going strong.
See you Tuesday!
Join us for our second meeting at Instructables HQ tomorrow (Sunday July 20th) at 2pm. There were plans to do a workshop before the meeting, but there was not enough time to work out the details.
However we will continue to have the monthly meeting (Third Sunday of the month) at Instructables. (When in doubt check back here.)
We have 175 people in the MeetUp group, things are humming along nicely. We could use a WordPress genuis to work out some of the kinks in this site (the 2007 date, Tags are not behaving, and other minor tidbits.) If you know WordPress and would like to help out shoot me an email.
See you then,
The Make:SF Team
Spend a summer day exploring the mechanical marvels along San Francisco’s North Shore! See giant running steam engines, turn of the century automata, mechanical computers and more…
Announcing the first Make:SF Workshop!

We’ll be soldering together a “Game of Life” kit from MakerShed. (The cost of the kit and batteries is included in the fees.) We’ll start soldering the kits at noon, then we’ll plug them together and present them at 2pm for the Make:SF meeting immediately following the workshop. The workshop is limited to 25 spots.
For workshop details and to sign up visit their classes page… scroll down to “Electronics”.
I’ll be teaching the workshops along with Garret Mace and Jeff Kayzer who will be working as mentors to help you assemble and test your kit as you build them.
There will be an additional workshop in Downtown SF July 20th, so feel free to attend the one closer to you, both will run the same price.
Feel free to contact me, Andrew Milmoe, with any questions

The blog post dates are off by a year (it’s not 2007) yet the server is right… still looking in to it.
Make:SF in downtown SF is now officially on for July 22nd at 2pm! The folks over at Instructables have generously allowed us to use their new space to share our projects. The location was recently mailed to Meetup.com Make:SF Group members.
Meetup.com will now be our official means of communicating meeting announcements and gathering RSVP’s so please sign up if you are interested.
The next TechShop Meeting on July 6th will be proceeded by a soldering workshop at noon… details to follow in the coming week.
We need people to present this Sunday.
Present something you showed at Maker Faire in more detail. (Make SF is like a smaller, mellower, more frequent Maker Faire!) Or a work in progress, something you’ve finished, or just an idea… presentations usually run about 20 minutes. Contact me if you are interested.
And last but not least, HELP!
Make:SF has been going well, but I’m sure there are other enthusiastic Makers who would like to get involved and help Make:SF really shine. The ball is rolling, but I’d love to get some help posting to the Wiki, planning workshops, working with TechShop and other venues to plan meetings, and reach out to the 100+ members of the Make:SF meetup. Contact me at meetings@makesf.org with “Maker Helper” in the subject. if you are interested. (It would be great to have folks from Downtown SF or Oakland as well as in the Menlo Park area.)
Thanks, and hope to see you on Sunday June 1st at TechShop

Anyone seen this show yet? Looks like a lot of fun…
