Cool Tech Art in Berkeley

I wanted to pass this notice on for a cool art exhibit going on at the Berkeley Art Museum (Thanks! Sean).

Ellen Fullman is a local maker, musician, and composer. For this concert, she has stretched metal strings about 100 feet across the Berkeley Art Museum’s largest gallery, and she will play it along with other musicians.

There are a few details about the specifications of her instrument here:

and videos:

There will a concert on December 4th. Should be amazing and it’s a mere $5.

Doesn’t matter if you’re black or white

If you can read this and you are anywhere near the Bay Area DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW. The physical and light installations are pretty phenomenal. It’s quite inspirational and thought provoking from a how’d-he-do-that Maker perspective.

It’s a lot of fun, too. I may add more to this post, but I had to get this out there.

If you are a light geek like me, you probably know about it or have already been to see it… if have not go see it. Why are you still reading this? You should be on your way to the SFMOMA.

PS:The title of this post will only make sense once you see the “yellow room”.

Make Inspiration

I’m adding a new category today called “Inspiration“. The goal is to link to events and sites featuring art or artists in the Bay Area who are doing interesting work in the area of electronics, hacking, science, community or some combination of each… it may just be inspirational… I’ll know it when I see it.

If you have a project on display or see something you like in the area, let us know about it so we can share it with the other Makers.
